Brief Summary

CODEPULSE — DSA EDITION was an exclusive online Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) coding contest organized by HackerRank RVCE × Coding Club RVCE on the HackerRank platform. The contest was designed to simulate the experience of a real-world Online Assessment (OA) conducted by technology companies, giving participants an opportunity to test their problem-solving, algorithmic thinking, and time-management skills in a competitive environment. The contest was conducted on 22 August 2026 at 6:00 PM IST and was completely free for all participants.

Theme

The central theme of CODEPULSE — DSA EDITION was company-style Online Assessments and competitive problem solving. The contest focused on evaluating participants' understanding of DSA concepts and their ability to apply them efficiently under a fixed time constraint. By replicating the format and pressure of a typical technical OA, the event aimed to help students become more familiar with the coding assessment process used during internship and placement recruitment.

Number of Participants and From Which Year

The event received registrations from approximately 300 students, out of which 89 participants actively took part in the competition. Participants came from three different batches of RVCE, providing a good mix of experience levels. Among the 89 participants, 18 were from the 2023–27 batch, 37 were from the 2024–28 batch, and 34 were from the 2025–29 batch.

Prize Pool if Applicable & Winners

The competition was completely free to participate in, with rewards provided to the top-performing participants. The 1st prize included a HackerRank Infinity Plan for one year, access to 1,500+ AI tools for six months, and Mock Interview Credits. The 2nd and 3rd place winners received access to 1,500+ AI tools for six months along with Mock Interview Credits. Additionally, the Top 5 performers received certification courses worth ₹10,000 each. All participants were also eligible to receive an E-Certificate of Participation.

Judging / Evaluation if Applicable

The contest consisted of 9 DSA-based programming questions to be solved within a 2-hour time limit. Participants were evaluated based on their ability to solve the given problems correctly and efficiently within the allotted time, closely following the evaluation format of technical Online Assessments. The contest was conducted online on the HackerRank platform under a proctored environment, ensuring a fair and standardized assessment for all participants.
